Located in Poonthoddam, Vavuniya, the Vavuniya National College of Education (VNCoE) is one of Sri Lanka’s premier teacher-training institutions under the National Institute of Education (NIE) and the Ministry of Education.
We specialize in pre-service and in-service teacher education, nurturing graduates who are academically sound, professionally competent, and socially responsible.
Our goal is to prepare teachers who will inspire students, strengthen schools, and contribute to national development through quality education.

As the President of the Vavuniya National College of Education, I take immense pleasure in presenting the Annual Report for the year 2025. During the year 2025, our college successfully overcame numerous challenges and achieved significant accomplishments.
In my capacity as President, I submit this annual report with gratitude to the Almighty, who bestowed us with the strength to foster the growth of the college, enhance the professional competence and personal development of teacher trainees, support the achievements of academic and non-academic staff, and ensure physical well-being and overall health.
